246 years ago, 56 men signed a document that birthed a nation: The Declaration of Independence. Today, here in America, we celebrate this momentous occasion with fireworks, parades, celebration, and jubilee…
However, almost 2000 years ago, on a lonely hill in Jerusalem, another nation was born… A Holy Nation of King-Priests… And while the Declaration of Independence was written in ink… Our Declaration of Freedom from a more treacherous and lethal tyranny was written in Blood… HIS BLOOD…
So today, as we celebrate America’s freedom and founding, it would be good for us to remember this:
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,” – Philippians 3:2- NIV
So, enjoy the day of celebration… Revel in the Freedom purchased for you… Not with muskets or canons… But with the The Blood of The Spotless Lamb Of God…
So, yes, keep looking to the sky…. Enjoy the fireworks… Enjoy this day of rest…
Yes, Beloved…. Keep looking up… For one day instead of fireworks you’ll see your Savior coming for you…
